[Researchers]

Wojciech Roga, Ph. D.

I am a theoretical physicist working on quantum technologies. My interests include quantum information theory, open quantum systems, quantum enhanced imaging and quantum computing. I am interested in the interdisciplinary approach linking quantum technologies with computer science, quantum chemistry, data analysis, compressive sensing, etc.

I received my Ph.D. in theoretical physics in 2011 at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. Next I worked as a postdoc researcher at the University of Salerno in Italy, and Strathclyde University in Glasgow, UK. In 2017 I got a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science fellowship for short term research in Japan. In 2018 I joined the Quantum ICT Advanced Development Centre at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology in Tokyo.

Currently I am a researcher in the Quantum Information and Communication Theory Group in the department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Keio University and a member of the Keio Quantum Computing Center.

Kazufumi Tanji

Grade: M2
Finished High School: Shinjuku High School

About Research: I transferred to the Takeoka laboratory this year (2022). I’ve joined the distributed quantum computing project in this laboratory. Because I have been curious about the hardware of quantum computers, I’m delighted to research the center of my interest now. Although a quantum computer is still developing currently, and there are uncountable difficulties, I enjoy challenging the obstacle with mathematics and physics.

Others: I like to listen to the radio while I cook. I belonged to the astronomy club in my bachelor’s, so I’m also fond of looking at stars.

CHEVALIER Baptiste

I am a M2 student from Sorbonne University in Paris (France). I graduated from University of Montpellier as computer science major. The master course I am following focus on quantum algorithms, cryptograhpy and QIT which allows me to have a nice background over the Quantum Information field.

I am curently researching in the QIC group and my research topic is mainly about quantum algorithms, especially Variationnal Quantum Algorithms (VQA) and Quantum Machine Learning (QML). I believe those applications are the best way to use today NISQ devices and to start doing interesting stuff using quantum computers.

Beside my research activities, I like learning languages, climbing and cooking (or maybe eating).

Team : Quantum Network

I mainly work on quantum network project. Recently, I have been interested in quantum error correction. I like coffee, sauna and watching sports.

Moe Ota

I am a first-year master grade student at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Keio University. I finished the Nanzan Girls’ High School in Nagoya. I am interested in quantum communication and cyber security. In QIC group I will work on quantum relay.

I’m a tea lover, especially Oolong tea. I also like to take a walk, do programming and discover funny memes.

Kazuki Suzuki

I am a M1 student at the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Department at Keio University. I finished Keio Shiki senior high school in Saitama prefecture.
I am interested in something about quantum information and quantum computation. In particular, quantum network and ion trap quantum computer. I have joined the distributed quantum computing project in qic lab.

I have some hobbies, and I like reading books and playing video games.

Shintaro Kanazawa

I am a M1 student at the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Department at Keio University. I finished Keio Shiki high school. I have been eager in studying programming and machine learning, which makes me interested in machine learning using a quantum computer. In QIC group, therefore, I am going to work on quantum machine learning.

I like listening to music, sento(public bath), coffee, and Burger King.  I am interested in figura in musical rhetoric.

Shunsuke Nomoto

I am a M1 student at the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Department at Keio University.
I finished the Ohmiya School in Saitama where I belonged to the soccer club.
I am interested in machine learning because I think it is basic technology that caused the current AI boom.
In QIC group I work on quantum machine learning.
Moreover, I belongs to the musical club and I often build the stage setting in the Hiyoshi campus.

Recently, as more and more personal information is entered on the Internet, we often wonder whether such information is being exchanged with sufficient security. Therefore, I am interested in the field of quantum cryptography, which creates information theoretically secure cryptosystems based on the principles of quantum mechanics.
